History

The Manor of Newland Lodge is the oldest Lodge located here in the Witham area. It was formed in 1947 (but can trace its roots back to 1764) by a group of local Freemasons who wished carry out their work nearer home.

Operating from the Witham Masonic Hall in Maldon Road (just behind the Tesco store). Today its membership is ranged from mid twenties to early eighties in age. We hold nine meetings a year on the last Thursday of the months between September until June with our Junior Lodge hosting a more relaxed Fish & Chip supper in December.

We are a friendly Lodge and the atmosphere at our Festive Board is both supportive and humorous. We make several donations to local charities throughout the year and run events with a view to charity fund raising. Should you be interested in beginning a career in Masonry, all you have to do is make contact to start the ball rolling. You can be assured that you will receive a cordial, friendly and warm welcome.
