Honouring the unsung heroes of Essex – the many people who quietly change lives

Essex Freemasons are delighted to announce that they will be proudly sponsoring the Unsung Hero Award at the Pride of Essex Awards 2026.

Established in 1994, the Pride of Essex Awards celebrate the remarkable people, organisations, and initiatives that positively shape communities across the county. Over the years, the event has become a significant occasion, highlighting inspiring stories of resilience, generosity, and achievement.

The Unsung Hero Award is awarded to exceptional care in the community. Recognising individuals, often key workers, who make a real difference by putting others’ needs before their own, either in a neighbourly or professional capacity.

Supporting this award reflects the core values of Essex Freemasons. Charity, service, and contributing positively to society sit at the heart of Freemasonry. Across Essex, Freemasons are actively involved in local initiatives, charitable causes, schools, and community projects. Sponsoring this category represents a natural and proud extension of that enduring commitment.

Essex Freemasons are especially proud to be previous winners at the Pride of Essex Awards, with many of our members also recognised in past years.
