Curry Night Extravaganza in Thundersley raises £2,297 for Charity

Provincial Grand Stewards from all over Essex have their own fun-filled event as they and their guests enjoy a fun filled curry night

Provincial Grand Stewards make all the difference to the success of so many Masonic formal events but on 23rd February 2024 at the Tandoori Parlour in Thundersley they held their own successful informal event.

A ‘Curry Night Extravaganza’ brought together more than 110 from all over the Province, including members, family and friends for a fantastic fun-filled evening with good food and fundraising. Paul Williams, one of the organisers said, “The conversations and laughter that filled the room exemplified the strong sense of friendship and community there is in Freemasonry.”

Entertainment was plentiful, with a DJ who kept the mood upbeat all evening and some unexpected karaoke singing talents uncovered, in particular Bernie Smith and his standout moment singing ‘Reet Petite’ which was enjoyed by all.

With quality raffle prizes including a TV and Air Frier the event was also a significant success in terms of charity raised of £2,297.

Paul added “This highlights the commitment of Freemasons to support those in need and make a real difference. Everyone left with a sense of fulfilment, knowing that their contributions would help make a positive impact in the community.”
