Essex Freemasons support Hospital Radio Colchester

Holland-on-Sea Lodge support Hospital Radio Colchester with donation of £500 towards this much-loved community service

Stephen Payne the current Master of the Holland-on-Sea Lodge No. 6639 that meets at the Colvin Memorial Temple, Clacton, is also a volunteer presenter for the Hospital Radio Colchester and he had the immense pleasure of presenting a donation to the station of £500 from the members of the Lodge.

Hospital Radio Colchester has been in existence for 60 years and have the tag line ‘With You Throughout Your Stay...’ broadcasting comprehensive program services 24/7 to hospital patients across the Colchester area. They cover all genre of music with some examples of program titles: Breakfast Jukebox – A-Z of Pop – This Day in Music – Best of British Classicals – The Late Show.

The station is a registered charity which is funded by charitable contributions and various fundraising events that they run during the year. It is a completely free service, run entirely by volunteers that aims to make a patients stay in hospital a bit more enjoyable

Stephen works for the NHS as a Senior Mental Health Nurse and presented the cheque to Andy Patrick a Radio Team Leader also presenter, who joins Stephen in presenting the Friday evening ‘Request Show’ taking requests from the Mersea Ward.
