The Association of Friends of Prince Edward Duke of Kent Court at Stisted has announced that, following the cancellation of the 2020 event, due to the Covid19 pandemic, the Trustees have reluctantly decided that the 2021 event must also be cancelled.

The Trustees said that following the loss of its main fundraising event this year, they felt they could not commit the Association to the considerable advance expenditure involved in planning the event and felt that, given the uncertainty surrounding the continuing pandemic and the absolute necessity of ensuring the safety of the residents at the home, they had no other choice but to cancel the event

However, the Trustees have also announced that the date of the event, Sunday 11th July 2021, be kept in the Essex Masonic diary in the hope that, in the event of the easing of restrictions, a smaller scale event may be held.

On behalf of the Trustees, Chairman Clive Dunnico expressed his gratitude to the Lodges, Chapters and other Masonic units that had supported this year’s event by buying tickets in advance and so generously not requesting refunds. Newly appointed President of the Friends Barry Stedman appealed to Charity Stewards to encourage their members to join the Association, for a subscription of just £10 a year, by going to the website:

Meanwhile, the 2021 Stisted Hall Golf Classic has provisionally been arranged for Monday 7th June at Braintree Golf Club:
