To make this Christmas a little more cheerful the Brethren of Mistley Lodge No 2339 and Dedham Vale No 8901 earlier this month gave a number of one-off donations to local good causes. One was to Acorn Village in Mistley which has been providing residential care, supported living and help for adults with learning difficulties since 1975.

Sufficient money was given for a special Acorn Village Christmas Tree and the Brethren of both Lodges were delighted to receive an email from Deputy Lieutenant, Nigel Spencer MBE, with a picture of the tree, thanking them for their valued input.

“The Acorn Village Xmas Tree is now all lit up” Nigel said “A second tree is elsewhere with the Villagers. There is enough money over to help fund the laying of an outside electrical supply, so great results all round”.

We congratulate all the Brethren of both Mistley and Dedham Vale Lodges in helping to lighten up life for the staff and residents at Acorn Village with not one but ‘Two Trees for the Villagers this Christmas’.
