Ixion Lodge Presentation to TLC and Spotlight Radiotherapy Appeal

Charity continues to always be close to the hearts of the members of Ixion Lodge

On Thursday 12th September Ixion Lodge No. 2501 met at Harlow Masonic Centre and had the pleasure of Initiating Frankie Munns, a Medical Practitioner working at Princess Alexandra Hospital.

At the same meeting the Lodge were hosts to Paul Reeves, Teddies For Loving Care, Essex Chairman (TLC) and Brian McGuinness, Essex Lodges Appeal Coordinator for Masonic donations to ‘The Southend Hospital `Spotlight` Radiotherapy Appeal’.

TLC is a long-time favourite of the Lodge and a perennial favourite with many Lodges’ and Paul delivered a short talk about the background and current ambitions of the TLC Essex Appeal. He then went on to present the Lodge with a Patron Certificate in recognition of donations to the appeal including a cheque for £250 presented that evening.

The ‘Spotlight’ Appeal seeks to provide state of the art radiotherapy machines to Southend Hospital which will do-away with radiotherapy patients having their head or face moulded into claustrophobic ‘masks’ while radiotherapy is delivered. Ixion Lodge made a donation of £1,000 towards the Spotlight Appeal which was gratefully received by Brian.

After the meeting 52 Lodge members & guests together with their Brother Initiate dined at the Festive Board in Peace, Love & Unity.
