Southend Freemasons donate £3000 to PTSD Charity

A night of Charity and Community Spirit for local Freemasons.

Albert Lucking Lodge, which meets at ‘Saxon Hall’ in Southend, has dedicated efforts throughout the year to raising funds in support of local charities, and members of our emergency services.

These initiatives culminated on Saturday, 18th January, when lodge members, along with their families and friends, gathered for a special dinner to honour their contributions to fundraising for these vital community services.

Throughout his year in office, Graeme McCormack, the Lodge's Past Master, devoted his efforts to supporting PTSD999 - a remarkable charity that provides crucial help and support to emergency service personnel dealing with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This noble cause recognises the immense emotional toll faced by those who serve the public in challenging and often heartbreaking situations.

Graeme was thrilled to present a cheque for £3,000 to co-founder and CEO of PTSD999 Gary Hayes. Gary expressed his heartfelt gratitude, emphasising that the donation will be used to fund three vital training courses, directly benefiting those in need.

In addition to this significant contribution, the Lodge extended their commitment to the local community with further donations to the Vincent de Paul Food Bank in Canvey Island and the East of England Ambulance Station in Southend.

The inspiring evening was a true celebration of the core values of Freemasonry: Integrity, Friendship, Respect, and Service.
