Southend Freemasons donate £3000 to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder charity

Albert Lucking Lodge No. 2717 enjoy a White Table meeting with an evening of Charity and Community Spirit

The Albert Lucking Lodge No. 2717 that meets at the Southend Masonic Centre, Southend on Saturday 18th January enjoyed a White Table meeting. Friends and family were invited to this relaxed informative evening which culminated in presenting three donations to local Charities and members of our Emergency Services.

The Past Master of the Lodge, Graeme McCormack, chose for his year in office the charity PTSD999 which offers help and support to members of the emergency services who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, as a result of their duties serving the public and dealing with difficult and sometimes heartbreaking situations. Graeme presented Gary Hayes, co-founder and CEO of the charity a cheque for £3,000. Gary was overjoyed with the donation as this would pay for three training courses within the organisation.

In addition, the Charity Steward, Roger Northwood presented a cheque for £250 to Tony Roche, the Chairman of the Vincent de Paul Food Bank, Canvey Island. This local charity distributes food to those in need and offers support for those in greater need.

Finally, the Lodge Almoner, Paul Marshall presented James Palmer, Leading Operations Manager of the East of England Ambulance Station in Southend with an Air Fryer, so that the ambulance crews can prepare hot food during their shift break.

This inspiring evening was a true celebration of the core values of Freemasonry... Integrity, Friendship, Respect and Service
