W Bro The Rev Martin Howse PSGD APGM in the Masters’ Chair at the Covid secure Chelmsford Masonic Hall

On Tuesday 6th October 2020 Assistant Provincial Grand Master W Bro The Rev Martin Howse PSGD was the Worshipful Master (Acting) for the first meeting of the Lodge of Daily Advancement No 9979 at the Covid secure Chelmsford Masonic Hall (CMH) which reopened on 1st October 2020.

CMH ensures social distancing can be maintained with a one-way system into the Temple through the main door and out through the fire exit into the LOI Room. The use of mobile apps for the NHS Track & Trace is compulsory and each user group has to complete a full risk assessment.

W Bro The Rev Martin Howse delivered eulogies for the late Provincial Grand Master, Rodney Lister Bass, OBE and W Bro Alan Everard PSGD, PAPGM, Primus Master of the Lodge, who had passed to the Grand Lodge above on the 14th July and 23rd September respectively, following which the brethren stood to order in respect.

After the regular business of the Lodge had been conducted, W Bro Ian Simpson PJGD gave an explanation of his experience as the Consecrating Officer of the Chapter of Discovery 8736 in Vanuatu in the South Pacific.  Alms were collected electronically and W Bro Martin closed the Lodge in perfect harmony having been assisted by his Covid rule of 6 team of Worshipful Brethren, SW (Acting) Peter Thomas, JW Ian Simpson, Secretary (Acting) Mark Harrison, SD Gerald Reilly and IG (Acting) Ian Parker.
