Harmonisation between the Craft and the Royal Arch marks an important step forward for Freemasonry in Essex. By bringing these two integral parts of the Order closer together, we will create a seamless journey for members, reinforcing the truth that they are not separate entities but complementary stages of “One Organisation”. This vision is supported in practice by Building Together, which provides Lodges and Chapters with the tools to ensure Craft and Royal Arch are aligned as part of one continuous Masonic journey.

For members, this means a clearer pathway where the Royal Arch is seen as a natural continuation of Craft Freemasonry. Consistent messaging, joint events, and shared initiatives will make it easier to understand and embrace the next stage of the Masonic journey.

Harmonisation also strengthens collaboration between Lodges and Chapters, simplifies structures, and ensures that both organisations work together towards shared goals. By encouraging Craft members to join the Royal Arch, we enrich their Masonic experience and strengthen the Province as a whole.

What we will do

  • Promote the Royal Arch as the natural next step in Freemasonry.
  • Coordinate messaging, events, and initiatives between Craft and Royal Arch.
  • Simplify structures to make progression clearer and more accessible.
  • Encourage every Lodge to support members in joining the Royal Arch.

Success will mean

  • Members experience Freemasonry as a single, continuous journey.
  • Greater collaboration between Lodges and Chapters.
  • Stronger retention through deeper engagement across both Orders.
  • A unified Essex Freemasonry working together towards shared goals.
