Ambresbury Lodge celebrate their member Trevor Armstrong’s 50-years
A 50-year celebration, charity donations of £600 and traditional festive carol singing in closing the year 2024 for the Ambresbury Lodge
On the 21st December 2024, the Loughton Masonic Centre was the venue for a bumper Christmas meeting of the Ambresbury Lodge No. 5099 in which the main event was a celebration of 50-years for their esteemed member, Trevor Armstrong.
Geoffrey Turpin, Assistant Provincial Grand Master (APGM), was in attendance to present Trevor with his 50-year Certificate. Trevor was delighted to take an active part in a most enjoyable retrospective of his life, career and masonic achievements which included some entertaining stories along the way. The APGM also presented Trevor with a 50-year lapel pin and personal letter from the Provincial Grand Master, Paul Tarrant.
As the Charity Steward of the Lodge, Trevor was also pleased to have in attendance, Brian McGuinness, Essex Lodges Appeal Coordinator for Masonic donations to ‘The Southend Hospital `Spotlight` Radiotherapy Appeal’, who presented an impactful talk on the Appeal and after which the Lodge generously made a donation of £500. A donation of £100 was also made to The Royal Parks Charity, after Paul Saggers completed a half marathon, in support of their ongoing work to protect its green spaces and wildlife environments.
A splendid festive board was enjoyed, and a raffle raised a fantastic £170. To close the year 2024, Ambresbury Lodge members and guests were enthusiastically directed by Trevor in their traditional Christmas Carol singing.
