Essex Cornerstone Foundation delivers first 250 Homeless Packs

Southend’s Homeless Charity HARP were grateful to receive packs containing essential items for the cold months of winter

The Essex Cornerstone Foundation, created by young Freemasons in Essex, is thrilled to share the success of the first delivery in their Homelessness Appeal campaign. On 30th January, Committee Members of the Essex Cornerstone Foundation, Jack Webb and Paul Williams, personally delivered 250 essential homeless packs to HARP Southend, a leading local charity dedicated to supporting individuals facing homelessness.

Supporting Immediate Needs

Each pack was carefully curated to provide warmth, hygiene, and dignity to those experiencing homelessness. With items such as toothbrushes, soap, heat blankets, socks, hats, and gloves, these packs offer practical support during the toughest months of the year.

Upon receiving the donation, a representative from HARP Southend expressed their gratitude, saying:

“Thank you so much for this donation! These packs are perfect for our clients. They really cover three immediate needs: warmth, hygiene, and dignity, which are especially crucial during winter.”

A Community Effort

This delivery marks the first of four planned donations, with a total of 1,000 essential packs set to be distributed to homelessness charities across Essex over the next six months. By staggering these donations, they aim to provide sustained support throughout the winter and beyond, ensuring that charities can meet the growing demand for assistance.

Dr. Jack Gilliland, Chairman of the Essex Cornerstone Foundation, highlighted the importance of this initiative:

“Homelessness is a growing issue, and younger individuals are disproportionately affected. With these essential packs, we hope to provide a small but meaningful measure of relief and support to those in need. Seeing the impact of these donations firsthand reminds us why community-driven initiatives like this are so important.”

How You Can Help

The Essex Cornerstone Foundation is committed to making a difference, but they can’t do it alone. Here’s how you can support their Homelessness Appeal:

  • Donate: Help them to reach more individuals in need by contributing towards future packs.
  • Volunteer: Get involved by helping them to assemble and distribute the packs.
  • Spread the Word: Share their mission on social media to encourage others to join the cause.

Looking Ahead

With three more deliveries planned, they are excited to continue working alongside local charities to provide practical, meaningful support to those experiencing homelessness. Stay tuned for updates on the next donation!
