A Magical Evening: Saint John's Lodge Enchanting Night of Charity

With illusions, mind-reading, and sleight of hand, magicians amaze the audience with seemingly impossible feats

On a night filled with wonder and amazement, Saint John's Lodge No. 1343, that meet at the Cross Keys Masonic Centre, Chadwell St Mary, hosted an extraordinary Magic Night at The Springhouse in Corringham, in collaboration with the talented performers of the Ilford Magical Society.

This spellbinding evening was not only an opportunity for fellowship and entertainment but also a fantastic fundraising effort, resulting in an incredible £1,000 being raised for two remarkable charities: Brighter Opportunities for Special People (BOSP) and Clowns in the Sky.

An Evening of Mystery and Marvels

The venue was transformed into a theatre of illusions as guests were treated to a unique and interactive magical experience. Each table had the pleasure of witnessing the skills of four different table magicians, each bringing their own style of close-up magic, mind-reading, and sleight of hand. Laughter, gasps, and cheers filled the room as each performer amazed their audience with seemingly impossible feats.

The highlight of the evening came with three spectacular stage performances, each bringing a unique style of magic to the audience. From mind-boggling illusions to expertly crafted sleight of hand, the performances captivated the audience, leaving them in awe. The lodge brethren and guests were enthralled by the artistry and skill on display, making the evening a truly unforgettable experience and were captivated by the stunning displays, proving that magic isn’t just about tricks—it’s about storytelling, connection, and creating unforgettable moments.

Supporting Worthy Causes

Beyond the entertainment, the true magic of the evening lay in its purpose: raising funds for BOSP and Clowns in the Sky. BOSP provides essential support and respite services for children and young adults with disabilities and their families, ensuring they receive the care and opportunities they deserve. Clowns in the Sky is dedicated to bringing smiles to the faces of children in hospital, using entertainment to uplift their spirits during difficult times.

Through ticket sales and the generosity of those in attendance, the Lodge successfully raised £1,000, a testament to the Masonic spirit of charity and community service.

A Night to Remember

The event was a tremendous success, showcasing not only the incredible talents of the Ilford Magical Society but also the power of Freemasonry in bringing people together for a good cause. The brethren of Saint John’s Lodge extend their heartfelt thanks to all the performers, guests, and contributors who made the evening possible.

With such a successful night in the books, one can only hope that more magical evenings lie ahead for the Lodge. Until then, the memory of this enchanting night will remain in the hearts of all who attended.
