Essex Chapter No. 276 – Celebrates being 175 years old
Celebrating their 175 year anniversary and also holding a special place in Essex Royal Arch Freemasonry
Essex Chapter No. 276 held a very special meeting on Tuesday 9th May 2023 at Chelmsford Masonic Hall.
Celebrating significant birthdays is always a great occasion and this meeting of Essex Chapter certainly was special as it was their 175th Anniversary!
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Grand Superintendent, Elliott Chevin, along with a retinue of Royal Arch Executive.
The 3rd Provincial Grand Principal, John Hubbard, delivered an oration to mark the occasion, detailing the Chapter’s history and important place within our Province.
The Chapter was Consecrated in 1848 in Chelmsford and is not only important in its own right, in the history of Essex Freemasonry, but also holds a special place in the formation of the Provincial Grand Chapter of Essex, as being one of the four Consecrating Chapters.
Today Essex Chapter continues to flourish and grow in number and remains an integral part of Essex Royal Arch Freemasonry and looks forward to many more special birthdays ahead.
